The steel yard worker/delivery driver needs to be in good physical shape. The
position requires lifting, sometimes exceeding 100 lbs. Currently the pay is $15.00/hr.
Must be able to pass physical and drug test.
Delivery Driver Job Description
- Pulling orders and loading truck for deliveries. Making invoices
(Truck is a standard transmission with a goose neck trailer.)
- Making deliveries, sometimes unloading metal by hand.
- Must be courteous and professional.
Deliveries are typically two days a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. The other part of the job is a yard worker.
Yard Worker Job Description
- Customer Service
Help load customer’s material and orders.
Make sure a customer or driver is being helped if they are wandering
out back.
- Security
Make sure that a customer that is picking up material or finished jobs
has been invoiced or that the sales counter is aware that they are there out there.
- Cut Orders
Cut orders for customers.
- Receiving
Unloading Trucks
Check material as it comes off of the truck.
Check the paperwork through as soon as possible setting aside the
material for customers first, marking the material and the verbal orders or work orders,
calling the customer when necessary, and re-filing the paper
work.
- Stock Material
Stock material that comes in including sheet metal and also what ever
is left on the saw rollers.
Keep stock racks organized.
